This weekend my wife bought herself a piano. She's always wanted one, and only now have we got both the room for it, and we managed to find just enough money to get the one she wanted.

I know NOTHING about pianos, but went along and tried to help her buy one - playing dumb tunes that I learned as a kid so that she could judge the differences. In the end she got the one she really really wanted - a Yamaha U1 (second hand of course - about 20 years old).

We take delivery on Saturday, and she's jumping up and down with anticipation. I'm looking forward to it too - there's nothing quite like a house filled with music.

Now when I come to stay, Heather and I can play all those famous banjo-piano duets. :-)

Nat with a banjo, the ultimate in unwanted houseguests :-)
