I'm not sure I'd show it as an anti-example. The tale revels in Mel's (twisted) brilliance.
I prefer the original version [tuxedo.org] from the Jargon File [jargon.org].

    The Jargon File version is presented as free verse, kind of like an epic poem. The text is the same, yes.
