Last week I attended OSCON here in Portland. I was very inspired by talks from Damian Conway, David Rumsey, Freeman Dyson and others during the week. I've started this journal to record my progress in Perl. Whee!

  • Hi Holly. I'm so glad that you enjoyed OSCON and that it encouraged you to start sharing your Perl experiences with us. Because that's precisely what makes the Perl community so special.

    In addition to use.perl, which is a superb source of news and a great way of exploring the social aspects of the Perl community, may I also recommend taking a look at PerlMonks [perlmonks.org]. It complements use.perl beautifully, being an excellent place to learn more about the *technical* aspects of Perl.
