And this is progress?
I've been reading the O'reilly .NET Framework book that Nat thrust on me at TPC 5.0. (If you ever doubted that Nat could be evil enough to be a PM, you can put those fears to rest. He is) This is one depressing book. I'm really not sure which is worse, the blind boosterism that pervades the thing, or the state of programming on Windows, both before and after .NET. I swear, the whole feel of the book so far is:

.NET, you only have to hit yourself twice! And only on the foot now! Isn't that keen?
I'm almost afraid to crack the C# book. That'll probably tell me how wonderful it is to not have to gargle Drain-O any more...
