POE::Component::IRC now has shiny SOCKS support
.... granted only SOCKS 4 and 4a.
I was asked to add this by one of IRCops at EFNet to do open proxy scanning. Always nice to hear that PoCo-IRC is being to used to fight Evil[tm].
Another potential benefit (?) is that PoCo-IRC can now be used through TOR
