Setting aside the fact that Milla Jovovich may be the only actress besides Kate Beckinsale who can make such awful movies even remotely watchable (and I actually enjoyed Van Helsing), how can you not hate yourself for watching more than one Resident Evil movie? I saw the second first, then for some reason decided to torture myself by watching the first. In comparison, it was a lot better.
Words fail me for describing the Romero remake though, except that some of the characterizations worked.

The trailer would have you believe it's fantastically awesome. Unfortunately fantastically awesome a hundred times in sequence makes for a really sheit movie.

I also hated the "original" ending. The alternate ending is much better.
