Compilation Notes #134242: Compiling Math::Pari on Cygwin
In the tradition of posting about compilation problems, here's another one: Compiling Math::Pari 2001004 on Cygwin. This failed for me miserably. It complained about quite a few things and bOrked out with the error message #error "LONG_SHORTER_THAN_IV not implemented". I found a fix on CPAN RT:
Line 667 of Pari.xs should be
GEN b = my_ulongtoi((ulong)(uv & ((((UV)1)<<(8*sizeof(ulong))) - 1)));
instead of
GEN b = my_ulongtoi((ulong)(uv & ((((UV)1)<<(8*sizeof(ulong))) - 1));
Notice the last closing parenthesis. Also remove the line 661 (# error "LONG_SHORTER_THAN_IV not implemented"). The warnings should still be there but the error is gone! Whiii!
