Mark Fowler has never been the same since he was elected leader of the London Perl Mongers. The strain manifests itself mainly in releasing various [cpan.org] modules [cpan.org] to CPAN, giving talks [2shortplanks.com], and use of the Trelane nick on #london.pm for endless procrastination. Doctors are still seeking a cure.

So, went to the Pendral's Oak last night to meet up with the London Perl Mongers and meet merlyn. He'd been to Stonehenge on one of the most wet days of the year...and seemed to have enjoyed it. I spent 20 years living less than an hour away and I've never been. Go figure.

davorg posted a link to my previous journal entry to the London Perl Mongers' list. Discussions ensued. Some people, especially grep, took it personally, which they shouldn't have - It wasn't directed at any one person. Other people suggested a charter. Quite a few times people seemed to forget that I really enjoy reading London.pm (political discussion, buffy talk, randomness and all) and I was just objecting to the style of some of the posts.

Maybe I'll have a go at writing my own charter and submitting it to list at some point. Point one will probably be "Mark's a whiny so-and-so ignore him whenever he complains" and point two will have to be "Don't worry about it too much, it's only a mailing list".

Oh, digest mode rocks btw.
